I posted in classifieds, but thought I would ask here too. I need a good used or new set of 3 & 1/8 inch sleeves for a Farmall C. C-113 bock Will buy or trade other C parts for them. I want to reuse my Firecrater pistons, and hate to buy pistons just to get sleeves.

Thanks folks.

Hi George, Try your Clevite dealer for your sleeves. I just called the dealer in Baltimore and he said you could buy just the sleeves. He's supposed to call me back. I see they have a dealer in Bowling Green KY. Hal

Hal, I will sure look into it. Everyone I have ask so far says sleeve assembly only. I did talk to a guy on the phone about a month ago, and he said he thought he could get just sleeves for around 160.00, but he never called back, so I assumed he didn't have any luck. I will check him again.

Thanks!

Clevite called me about sleeves. They need the serial number off the block. They say they are special order so you get the right sleeves. I doubt if they can be returned if they're wrong.

Here's Clevite's web site for finding a store. I found on in Auburn KY. Hal

PS: IT probably would be better for you to contact them so there's no problems.

Hi, George:
There is a change in the C-113 block about serial number 310,000 (Super A serial number). Above that and the sleeve bore in the block is larger. Basically, it is a 123 block sleeved down to 113. So, if you get the older sleeves and your block is above 310,000, they will simply fall into the bores in the block and will not seal. Or, vice versa if you have an old 113 block and get newer sleeves - they won't go in at all.
Sorry to create confusion for you, old Chap, but it might help if you clarify what block you have. A block from a (non super) C would, I believe, take the older sleeve with the smaller outside diameter - like the Super A's below 310,000. Sorry I don't have the O.D. dimensions, but others may post with that information for you. Hope this helps prevent you from getting the wrong sleeves. mike durhan

Mike, didn't confuse me at all. It is a 49 model C with the original block in it. Best I remember I need the 3 & 5/16ths sleeves. The 123 blocks take 3 & 7/16ths I have a good set of those, but won't fit.

Yep, but no one wants to sell just sleeves. I would get them from my IH man if I were getting the whole set. I may have to anyhow. Done that with my M. Reused the M&W pistons, now have a new set of flat tops been sitting in the box since 94.

I used those 3 .125" flat top pistons in an A that I restored back in 1975 & 1976. It had plenty of power when pulling that 16-inch moldboard plow to cause wheel slippage in sod. That old governor would open up and it never skipped a beat. I bought the kit from our local IH dealer way before being bought by Case. Cost $80.00. My how things have gone up in price. I wish my retirement had risen that fast. Hal

That applied to the Super A's, the C's only had the C113 block, but would accept the 3.125" pistons with thinner sleeves. The A's, B's and C's all had that feature. Hal
PS: The sleeve diameter for the C was 3.312" at the seal and was 6.875" long

Hal, I see you whipped some of those.0000 figures out. Didn't remember exactly what the precise measurement was. Looks close to 3 & 5/16ths.

That make's the diameter 3.3125" at the seal. Hal
PS: The sleeve in the Super C is 3.4375" at the seal and is 7.060" in length.
