Saw this H on ebay and is this really where they would put a amp gauge? I think the box is missing and they put the gauge there instead of buying a amp box??

Andrew heres the address:

That may be the real deal.

My '47 I-4 has the amp gage similarly placed on the rear gas tank support. It too was factory electric start, but no lighting.

I read the owners remarks, i just found that odd that they would have not put a amp box in with block off plates on it or something. It seems who ever looked at may have tried to mock it off a C with the gauges down there.

If you read the owners statement the tractor was ordered without lites therefore thats why the amp guage was there.

That looks like a JD black face gauge in there. I've never seen the gauge in the tank support before. When I looked at the H, I seen the buyer was maxson52. My Dad has sold parts to him before. He is from NY so it will be a pretty long drive to WI to get it!!

I had a 41 H that was like that, the starter button was up on the column where I would expect it to be though. When I repalced the guage, I couldtell it wasnt a factory cut hole.

The amp guage is about where the starter button was originally. IH never had those placements

I think he is right, without the light kit they don't need the box, but some experts will be along soon.

I don't think the horn is factory.
