I thought I'd share the new spring I made for my TA release handle....never checked if they are available but had a few minutes to make a new one....it is pictured along withe the old rusty one.....

I use .095 oil tempered spring wire...

After replacing it and welding up the worn engagement catch...works a lot better.....

Lookin' good on the spring there. What fun would it be to go buy a new one anyway! Fixing the little things is the most rewarding. Many people don't think they are important, but having them fixed sure makes a tractor a lot more enjoyable to operate.

I agree it is fun to fix the litle things. I was getting a sore thumb from pushing the IPTO on a SMTA because the litle rubber button was long gone from the engagemnet rod. I rumaged around in a drawer of stuff and found a "drive into wooden furniture "nut" with a large flat side. The hole was slighly under the shaft size of the IPTYO. I tapped it inplace with a hammer and it stayed in place - still there! It much increased the surface area and was a better than factory operating lever. My nickel Dick Davis
