Can anybody tell me if the front steering shaft on Super M is the same shaft as a Super M TA? This is the shaft with worm gear up front. Thanks.

I've got a Super M with power steering and a Super MTA without, was going to swap parts.Dont have both tractors at the same place in order to measure any differences in shafts. It should work with a few minor adjustments.thanks for your input.

There's roughly 1 and 1/2 inches differences in the length of shafts from a M gas to a SMTA. M the shortest.

If all else fails you can weld section onto M or SM shaft, smooth it down and paint it and you will not notice weld.

If you need one for a SMTA use a MD, SMD, 400 or 450 without power steering.

Do as K-Mo says--the Super MTA has a longer wheelbase than the SM because of the TA. Thus one or both of the MTA shafts have to be longer. My guess would be that the rear one is longer, I don't know.

You can go to www.caseih.com and follow the "Search for Parts". There you will find the parts books online.
