Is their a piston set that i can put into a M that will bump up the hp? It had a set of M&W's cranking about 55 horse 25 years ago. It's all torn down and needs all new parts. Any suggestions on pistons or other parts that can get me the same or more hp? I already installed new 4 inch sleeves. Thanks

If you have sleeves already in the tractor, the pistons have to fit them (obviously). IH had high altitude pistons, and M&W and other manufacturers had various combinations of craters and steps. The 450 cam and head would help, especially the 450 LP head.

Really BIG HP would require a custom cam to change the firing order, electronic ignition, headers, and 806 carb or custom setup carb like on one of the tractor pulling websites.

What's wrong with your M&W pistons? I have a set in one M that has only had new rings put on them and still use them. They are about as good as any you will find. Put on a 400/450 head, carb will help some, it may already have these things. Might shave the head you have some. Money is the limiting facor for serious HP increse. Some have them cranking well over 100 HP. Takes lots of machine work for this.

Dave Reed at Otto Gas Engine Works would have them.

Most anywhere. CaseIH, Napa and many auto parts stores can get them. Maybe here at YT. Could also call Marshalls at 1-888-824-0544.
