Yes this is probably a silly question BUT, Ive never had the fan off of a H before. I was adjusting the fan belt and broke the cast ring thats the front half of the pulley on the water pump.Do I have to take the small bolt out on the springs on the long bolts? I have the small nut off the bolt but it wont move. What is the easiest way to change the adjusting ring? do I have to remove the radiator? Where can I get another ring? Still available from Case IH?? Thanks Doug

Bad news. You have to take the water pump apart to get the moveable flange off. It is not difficult, but it is a bit of a chore. I ran mine for several years with a cracked sheave.

After much deliberation, I found it easier to remove the radiator, then the water pump. Getting that pin out can be difficult. There a lot of IH tractors that fell into the category of "running when parked" over that pulley shieve.
