Hey all. Have 2 6 volt batteries out of my 1466 and unfortunately 6v charger is out. If I connect these batteries in series (positive to negative) hence giving me 12 volts, can I charge them together with a 12v charger under a trickle charge?

how do you think the alternator on the tractor charges twelve volts into those batteries? hook the negative to the frame and the positive to the terminal closest to the starter.that would be the front of the left battery.

If you hook them in series to get 12 volts, you do not need to trickle charge them, charge them like you would any other 12 volt battery.

They are supposed to be connected in series on the tractor too. If you've got them in parallel, that would explain why you think they're dead.

Yes as long as they are both good batteries. You could check them with a hydrometer if you doubt them.
