I BOUGHT A FARMALL A 1942 WITH 2 DIFFERENT SIZE TIRES ON THE REAR.THE SHORTER ONE LOOKS MORE LIKE WHAT WAS STANDARD BUT I LIKE THE LOOKS OF THE LARGER ONE IT'S A 11.2 - 24 R1. MY QUESTION IS ABOUT THE FRONT TIRES. DOES ANY BODY KNOW WHAT THE FRONT TIRE SIZE SHOULD BE TO LEVAL IT OFF? THANKS RAY

Outside measurement of the rim will be 1 inch wider that where the tire bead sets eg if it measures 9in it is a 8in rim and yours mite be a 8in outside which would be a 7in. A 8.3 will fit good on a 7in rim and the 9.5 goes well on the 8in rim fronts should be 4x15 but some like the 5x15 as those rims are 3in wide.

The 9/9.5 24's along with the 4-15 fronts will make it level. The 10/11.2's will make it sit higher in the rear (my Super a has them and is ok), but will make the ground speed a little faster. Be sure not to get 6 ply rears, or the rear will be too high.

Make sure they all touch the ground.

My A uses 9.5 X 24 on the rear and 4.00 x 15 on the front. Hope this helps.
Charles
