Hello all,I have a question about a Super A engine. I use my Super A with rear mounted 7' sickle bar to cut about 30 - 40 acres of hay last year. It worked very well with the exception of the points going bad. I replaced them and we were off and running again. The question I had was when I was mowing I noticed at times that there was either exhaust or maybe oil coming out the oil filler / breather. This happened most often when I was mowing UP a hill, or when the engine was under heavy usage maybe. when on the flat ground and down hill I didn't notice it at all or not much at all if any. I am wondering what is causing that? Is that normal? I did a compression test on it at the beginning of last year and what I found was approx 90 psi average with one cylinder a bit higher. I can repeat the testing again I guess this spring to see how they are comparatively. So I didn't know really if that exhaust or oil coming out that breather is something I should be worried about? Does the engine maybe need some rebuilding or work? I plan on using it again this year to mow hay so I want to make sure (to the best I can) that it'll run well all season. I probably will be cutting closer to 60 or 70 acres this year with it all total. Any suggestions on what I should check or do (if anything) please let me know. Thanks.
