If you tap very very light on the needle valve to seat it may help.

Make sure the float pin is in tight and that your float level is adjusted correctly. The float level can be adjusted by bending the float arm with a pliers. Make sure all gaskets are good and sealing up good. Also make sure the needle is not falling out or stuck down in the carburetor. Also make sure the carburetor is very clean inside and outside and that your adjustments are set correctly.

Andy.

Make sure you have a good gasket on the seat when you screw it in and get it in tight. Also take the elbow off and check the screen. If it is letting dirt through that will hold the needle valve open.

Two likely issues:
If the fuel runs out of the carb when just sitting there (not cranking) it is probably a tiny thread or piece of dirt holding the needle open a tiny bit. Clean it out one mor time. The float can be touching the side of the bowl, or hanging down so far that it gets stuck on the bottom. (there is a float drop specification) A repair manual is for sure needed. If it leaks a few drops after choking to start it, it is pretty normal. The suction of the intake pulls raw gasoline out of the main jets and into the intake area/throat. Because it is an updraft carb, the fuel leaks down and out after an unsuccessful start attempt. Tell us more about what is going on. JimN
