What month in 1939 did the letter series tractors start production? I have a early H that has some july dates on casting. I need to look again there maybe some earlier than that on it. They started at 501 so I think mine would be the 827 one built. I"m trying to narrow down the build date if it. Any one out there have this information?

There's a couple of different dates used, July 21 shows up on the monthly serieal lists. There may have been preproduction tractors run on the 3rd.

Paul,
Your M is the earliest number I heard of on an M there could not be more than 28 older than your's even if they all would have survied till today. My hats off to you. Is there a good registry for IH out there some where. The one on YT don't cut it.
