I bought a Farmall A Serial no. says it a super A. The guy said the clutch was stuck. Long story short I split the tractor and while I had it apart I put in a new clutch thats supposed to fit A super A and others. It has the springs around it for shock when you release thr clutch. they hit on the pressure plate when you push down on the clutch so it wont release. The pressure plate has 6 bolts but are grouped in sets of 2 whereas the pressure plate in the pictures have the bolts spaced even. The question is do I have the wrong fly wheel or the wrong pressure plate or wrong clutch. Thanks hope I explaned it right.

You dont have the wrong flywheel. Check the yoke the clutch throwout bearing is on. Its probably bent and thats why the clutch wont work. Isnt the clutch and pressure plate the same as you took out and you are sure the clutch plate isnt in backwards

I just looked in my parts book; your 2 + 2 + 2 bolt patterned pressure plate is an Auburn style. The 6 even spaced bolts pressure plate is a Rockford style. Get the Auburn style disc or replace both pressure plate and disc.

There were 2 different styles of clutches back then. Does your new clutch disc look different than the old one? If you just replaced the disc, get one that looks like the old one.
I had the same problem with a C Farmall. Take the disc back & get the other style.

Are you sure you didn"t put the disk in backwards?

It will not fit backwards. I am thinking it has the wrong flywheel. If you look at the pressure plate on yesterdays tractor the pressure plate has 6 bolt holes evenly spaced that bolts to the flywheel. mine has 6 holes but grouped in 2's.

According to my application guide and website everyone is showing 6 even spaced holes on the pressure plate. It sounds like someone has coverted a different unit up in your tractor.
