If that disc really is a TW as Silver Pig says, you have WAY too much disc for a 656. I have a 24 disc TWA (later version of the TW) and it is a load for an 856. PS The only marking on mine that identifies it as a TWA is an almost gone decal on the front of the main frame.

I just found a photo of a cover a TW parts catalog. It is not a TW.

I cant find ANY information on the internet about a John Deere TW or TWA Disc Harrow let alone a photo so I cant compare the photos I have to a TW or a TWA. May you can post a photo of your TWA for comparisons sake. The closest I can come up with is what Bill of NY stated a Series 3000/4000 the photos look identical but mine looks like a smaller version as it has 4 less discs.

I am strictly planning on using this as weed control and not doing any deep cutting in our sandy soil. In addition, if need be I will either remove discs or modify it to make it easier to pull if that is required. The price was right!
