I was just wandering after people keep asking me why I drive my 1940 H to town and around on Saturday or Sunday each week the weather is good. Does anyone else drive their tractor around beside in a field. I live 1 block out of the city limits and I ride my tractor when the weather permits. Sometimes further out into the country side sometimes right down the middle of main street, or to the county park to walk, or even to a fast food joints drive trough for a quick bite. 1 guy ask me. is that what you have to drive after losing your driving privileges. I said no I drive a work van all week. Some folks like you ride motorcycles, some ride bikes, some drive convertibles I ride my tractor to relax, and wind down after a week of work.

Yes, I drive my 1943 Farmall H on the road once in a while, not in the winter though. It is a great tractor.

Hey there;
Some of the MOST RELAXING hours I can remember,were spent on my tractors!!
But the "Doc"said NO MORE DRIVING.
Damn I sure miss those good times,it's hell not being allowed to do what you enjoy!! Bob

I drive my Farmall F12 through the subdivision,and up to the gas station for gas and coffee,I like to let it idel very slow where you can hear the MAG clicking,In the summer I park my collection of tractors along the road and people always stops to look and talk,My wife thinks shes smart and will sneak a for sale sign on them

I drive my Cub around town quite often in the summer. Even drovew it to work(3/4i) for two weeks after my van got totaled a few yers ago. I hvent been more than a couple of miles from home with it, but iot isn't that fst either.

Tack, I totally get you. I live in a very small Colorado town. First off, anytime it snows more than 4inches, all us boys in town break out our toys, work 'em, then meet in the middle somewhere, and talk machinery.

Second, when the weather is good, I take my little 140 down to the convenience store for sodas (mine, not for the tractor) and a ride. I'll take it out to go 2 blocks to my folks' house, and yes, the girls at the drive through bank just love it when I pull up on the old girl to do some banking. I even ran it about a 1/4 mile up the road to the post office once, but road gear / short fenders / wet road and the fact that it's a state highway convinced me I better use the car from now on. I do the entire neighborhood's driveways when it snows, and a gal up the road who has 4 kids, two jobs, and a hubby in Iraq. If it would hit 50 mph, I'd drive it 56 miles to work at least twice a week.

In short, it's my favorite thing to drive, period. And I didn't buy it to let it sit in the shed. Keep on keepin on.

I live 1 mi from a city of 9000 people. I drive my H to the gas station and it"s fun to watch the car/truck driver"s reaction...half of them stare real hard (older guys, mostly), and 1/4 of them smile and wave, once in a while a guy will stick his hand out the window and give a "thumbs up" (looks like his thumb). Amost every time at the gas station someone will come over and talk, two Florida guys wanted me to take their picture standing by the H. Never tried going to the bank drive-in, but will do that this summer. I"ve considered going thru the automatic carwash, if the windows would work I would do it.

I live in the city of St.Clair.Shores Michigan , there isn't a farm for 30 miles ! I drive my fully restored 52 Super M around all the time as well as my 55 cub . I had trouble with the neighbors at first , they called the police ..... "But" i know a few of them and they told me just to make sure there is a orange triangle on the back and i will be fine . I even had some -ick head call the police and tell them i was "get this" drag racing it down the street . Well when they came and told me this they ended up sitting on it taking pictures of each other.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying what we like , people need to mind there own pees and qs .

I have the Super M set up for pulling and had a neighbor with a Dodge diesel call me out saying he would pull me down the street . Well he was very wrong , first gear and dry cement and 72 hp !!!!! Take that piece of crap some place else , ha ha ha ... It wasn't even a effort for the old girl , she defended her colors with great respect .

I tool around the nearby roads on my tractors just to give them some run time and so as to see the sights. Also drive about two miles down the road to visit the neighbor.

I drove my 1951 Farmall H to school a couple times...was definately fun. Oh and can"t forget about the prom too ;)
