I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MECHANICING. HAVE SUPER M THAT WAS CONVERTED TO ELECTRONIC IGINITION. NO THREE HAS A MISS IN COLD WEATHER ONLY. PUT NEW PLUGS IN AND WITHIN FIVE MINUTES IT WILL BEGIN TO MISS. YOU CAN GROUND PLUG TO ENGINE BLOCK AND IT DEMONSTRATES A GOOD SPARK ON THAT CYLINDER PLUG. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED

After checking for vacuum leaks as Marv suggests, take the plug out after the engine begins to miss and see if it is wet. If so you may have a leaking head gasket or cracked head.

Use an insulated pulg wire pliers and pull the plug wire loose from #3 while it is misfiring. If, as you pull the wire farther from the plug terminal (do not pull it all the way off, just increase the gap to about 3/8"), it starts to fire, and cleans up its act, Change that plug to a different cylinder and start over. If that misfire follows the plug, it is a bad plug. If the mis stays in the cylinder, and comes back the same way, I would do the manifold leak check, a compression check, and a cylinder leak down test.
Getting to the real problem is the key. Keep us informed on outcomes. JimN

Check to see that the intake manifold bolts are tight. Spray WD 40 over the manifold gasket area while running and if the motor changes speed the gasket is leaking air. Marv
