Workin'on a 1952 Farmall M with the 11" clutch.

Already got the whole darn thing split and the clutch off, but I can't see how to get the flywheel off. Took out the 4 bolts holding it on, and now I am stuck (that's where you guys come in :)

Pullin' it all apart to eventually hopefully put a repair sleeve in #2 cylinder.

Thanks for any help with my flywheel issues(1st timer)

It's stuck on the dowels. Thumping it with a hammer several times will help. put a block of wood under where the hammer will strike. Go around it several times just giving it a moderate jolt. Then walk it off like the other guys are talking about.

Wait to see if anyone else chimes in here, but I dont think the jarring from the hammer will hurt if not overdone.

Also, its heavy!!!

The dowels may be keeping it on now. Are there any threaded holes around that bolt circle that you could use cap screws to push the flywheel off the dowels? If there isn't you will need to pry it off with a good pry bar. Hal

Guess that means I need a bigger bar, 'cause I tried that with big flat-blade screwdrivers.

Tire tools/ J-crowbars work?

Thanks

Crowbars and tire tools will work. For that job I like 'em about 2 feet long. Remember, there is a dowel pin that is a tight fit, so you will only get about 1/64 of an inch per wiggle. Seems to work best if the dowel pin is at either the 3 or 9 o'clock position.

I've always just walked them off with a bar on each side.
