hi all! i'm hoping that there is someoneout there that can help me out. I need to know what the angle is for the valves and seat is on a 1927 Farmall Regular tractor. I really would like to resurface the seat(s); they are not in bad shape but they should be cleaned up with more than lapping compound. the valves look great. thanks guys

45 degrees is pretty standard for older engines. If you are grinding both the valves and the seats, it usually doesn't matter as long as they match. On a lot of engines they will do the valves at 45 and the seats at 46 to help them seat better. If you are doing the seats, it would be a good idea to do the valves also.

I have an old Motor's manual that covers tractor engines back to the 30's. Although it doesn't specifically mention the Farmall, it does have specs for the F-20, 10-20, F-series, W-series, letter series, etc. All IH engines it lists have 45 degree valve seat angles for both intake and exhaust.

Hope this helps. My Farmall regular manual talks about lapping the valves, but doesn't give the seat angle.
