I am trying to figure out how to describe this plow for selling purposes. The discs are 28 inches across, which seems to big for a SA to me. The man I bought my SA from was 86 years old (at that time) and told me that the plowed his farm with it using the SA.

The plow has a steel rod (not shown in photo that runs to the front steering (I think).

Posted this photo in "Help to identify" a couple of days ago and got no responses. Photo now on page 2

Don't need this plow and it's in my way.

Help..... ...

For the ID and verifying that the SA will pull.

Your plow is an A-151 disk plow. The rod that connects to the front steering is to steer the back wheel of the plow to coordinate the plow steering. I'd say the plow is worth at most $200, as there is not much demand for such an item. We had one of these back in the 50s when I was a youth. The Super A will easily pull it in 2nd gear unless the ground is very hard. We seldom used ours except to plow the garden as most of our plowing was done with the M.

It's not too big, is simply a disk plow instead of a moldboard. Used mainly in drier soils than the moldboard is used for. IH made the semi-mounted steerable plows for the A through M. They had from one to 3 disks. The H will pull a 3 disk (We had one), the M should easily handle a 4 disk, but I don't believe IH ever made one. The disk plows have less draft, thus are easier to pull than a moldboard.
