I changed the rod on my SA to where it was like in the picture you posted. I am sure this is correct now. You could see where it had rubbed on the block if the cotter pin was facing the carb. Also it lines up better this way.

Only trouble was finding the little hole in the rod to put the cotter pin back in.

Glad you asked that question cause I would never have caught it otherwise.

HAd to blow snow nd get wet anyway, so I went out around back and checked my SuperC (the BN is tucked in the garage) and found both mine set up just as the picture. Figger there must have been a reason.

The way I found out was that it just wouldn"t fit the other way so I kind of had no other choice but to flip it around. I guess the new carb wasn"t all worn out so there was no room for slop like on the old one. Glad the picture came in handy.
