I see JD stuff on here like 4020's and people wanting tooo much for them,
then i see IHC stuff on here too,
and it makes a heck of alot more sense to me than a deere for ther same price or cheaper,
Ill stay with IH and be a happy camper,

Sold my 2 antique JD's.Got sick of them.Kept the Oliver 77 and bought a Farmall H.I like the little red thing and it doesn't kill my wallet as bad.Like they say about deere expensive to buy and nobody want's to pay for them when you sell.

Having grown up on IH equipment and getting some Deere equipment in the last few years... I like the Deere equipment given the same year model vs. IH. They had a nicer cab sooner, resale value holds up better, and our local Deere dealer is much, much better than the local CNH dealer.

I love the old Farmalls, but as far as modern equipment goes I'll keep the JD.

Yeah I like my JD baler and planter too. But let me ask you this if you look at the cab on my 1486 and the cab on your 4450 which one is more like the new JD's, aside from the ornery backwards doors the 1486 is. I don't like the doors, but I would rather use them yes 2 not 1 than look around the cab pillar, the precleaner, and the big muffler. I've run 4430's and 4440's plenty and never could get used to them. Lee

People just like that green paint. Seems Deere has pretty much the same business philosophy as Harley-Davidson. They seem to be more interested in selling t-shirts and caps than equipment. Just my two cents worth. But I'm pretty biased.

I know in central KS it is JD country. Went to a sale last year, a case 1370 turbo, cab, and duals went for $3900. Went to a sale on Saturday, A 1973 case 1370 with duals and cab went for $4600. A huge caseih 9350(don't know the year but it looked fairly new, red paint was shiny) 4x4 with duals, cab, 4000 hours, serviced every year went for only $6800. A JD almost new 32' chisel went for almost $22,000. An older Krause 4995 31' chisel right next to it went for about $4000. All the farmers have plenty of wheat money to spend now on about anything but caseih. I was looking for an old grain truck at a bargain price but the 1965 chevy c-60 trucks were going for $2600 to $3000 each.

Im not moved by wheat money,
Ill STILL TAKE AN IHC and i think ih engines sound better too,
Tell me about it, I mean people up here are as brainwashed by JD as anyone ive ever seen,
I mean if it wasnt the distance to the other dealer's and the JD people puffing themselves up in all the papers than Id take a case 1200 redo it, two IHC 1468's and a massey 1850 just for good measure,
and i wouldnt care aboun the distance to go to another dealer thats not green,,,,

I guess it would depend upon whether you own DE stock, or not!
