My neighbour brought me his tractor (454 international) it has no brakes. he said he tried to bleed them (after i looked here and found where the bleeders were) so my question is is there some mystical bleeding procedure or am i going to have to go deeper in the tractor
thanks archie =) =) =)

Hi Jeep, my brothers method of bleeding the brakes on his 454:
Block the rear wheels and set parking brake.
1)Make sure hydraulic filter is not clogged.
2)Operate tractor until hydraulic oil is up to operating temp.
3)Run engine at fast idle 1300 to 1500 RPM
4)With a clear plastic tube on each bleed screw and open end in a clean container open each bleed screw and watch oil flow until all air bubbles disappear. Do not pump brakes. 5)When oil flows bubble free close bleed screws.
6)Top up hydraulic reservoir.

May have to repeat procedure a couple of times if there was lots of air in the system.

Good luck JimB

The quick and easy way is to crack one bleed screw on the rear housing, and pump that side brake until only fluid comes out, tighten bleeder, then do other side.

Correct way is to put a hose from the bleed nipple directly into the hydraulic fill plug behind the fuel tank, and clamp off something under the dash by the master cylinder (memory is fuzzy)
