Pete,

Were you able to sneak out last night and try the drag link socket on the regulator valve? If it worked, I'll stop by Napa today and pick one up.

Tractorsam, I do believe you are right! My rattle is a tumbling star (probably incorrect terminology) for cleaning cast.

Pete, the funny thing is, I told my son that we should make a pendant for the wife with it!

Yupper!

Couldn't 'push' hard enough without the block moving on me, so I put a board against the front of the block, leaned against that, and 'pulled' the drag link socket toward me while I twisted it loose. Once the threads were clear, it still had to be 'worked' out because it has it's own O-ring.

Dang socket cost me $13+. If you lived in the next town, Greg, I'd run her over and save you the $$. I was too excited to wait and order a cheaper one online.

The funny thing is that little piece is really getting to bug me. I've been thinking about it ever since. I'm absolutely convinced that's what it is but I can't for the life of me remember who told me about them. I'm sure I was told about it not too long ago and I just can't recall it. Oh well, tractorsam

As soon as I read your previous post, I remembered seeing on TV or hearing something about how manafactures cleaned flashing from cast iron by tumbling a block or whatever with small bits and pieces of cast. Like you, can't remember where I learned of it. Greg

I'm glad I'm not going totally crazy and someone else has heard something like this before. Maybe it'll come to me at some point. tractorsam

Sam & Greg: I use something similar cleaning out fuel tanks. Unless one keeps these little tractors full of fuel, he can get rust build up in thank. I put about 3 cups of small round stones in with about gallon of gas and tumble it much like a cement mixer. I learned that one right here at YT. Some guys strap the fuel tank to jacked rear wheel of a second tractor.

I think you guys have also heard what you describe, right here at YT. Can't tell you who, but I remember it as well.
