Who says a Cub can't plow snow?

A little while back there was a discussion of good IH snow-plowing tractors. Several people (no offense meant) mentioned how poor the Cub was for plowing snow - well, maybe in some conditions it is, but the video link below should say something about the Cub's "snow-worthiness". We had about 8" of snow Monday night here in MO and I got out and plowed it with the Cub. Our driveway is 1 mile of gravel, with some pretty long and steep hills thrown in - and the Cub did very well. Mine has rear wheel weights - but no fronts - and I added an extra 165 lbs. on the drawbar for good measure. I was even able to plow in 3rd a little! Enjoy.

Stop by and I will show you how to move snow. My wife bless her heart is big enough to pull a beer wagon without breaking a sweat. Once in her harness she can pull a bigger plow than that.

All jokes aside a Amish friend was plowing snow the other day. Those old horses dug in and moved alot of snow, but here we are worried that we have little area to push snow, now its time to blow it over the top.

Snow usualy is a time for boys with toys to justify their toys to the wife. Most times the wife could care less, but it gets the boys outside and out of their hair.

Nice toy!

Nice work!

Now, let us in on the secret. How'd ya do it with black paint on the lights and no decals. I've been around here for a while, and, believin' everything I'm told, wouldn'ta thought it could be done. Decals alone'll give ya 2hp. The correct lights are worth another 1/2, anyway.

Again, nice work. And nice tractor!

LOL. WELL, the lights aren't even painted black - they're black PLASTIC! My Cub has a 12V battery and lights, but still has the original starter and generator. The battery doesn't get recharged - so you have to hook it up to the battery charger every once in a while - but it cranks good and fast when the battery is hot!

And as for the decals, you can still barely see them under the hi-temp orange paint a PO sprayed on.

Looks like you had fun. Seems like there is always some one who thinks ya gots to have super stuff with live hys and ptos to get anything done. WOW you made it without a ROPS even went up and down hills. Nice to have fun on an old tractor. great pic.

Yep. The heck with live-standard PTO, live hyds. and ROPS. I got hand lift, a PTO bearing going out, and no ROPS except the steering wheel and I do just fine!

for what it's worth, I don't need to see the video. My brother has been clearing his driveway and a neighbors for years with his cub. Other tractors may work better but the cub gets it done.

Yeah, I know. Sorry about that.

Dang it! That last try didn't work either. The links to pictures worked, but not to the videos. I'll keep tryin' to come up with something that works.

Here's one of your pictures. If my Wards garden tractor will push snow the Cub should do it easier. Hal
