Fuel line for H

The fuel line on my 1940 H is leaking at the nut (it is split) that goes into the carb. What size is that? Do I have to use copper or can I use rubber lines. The copper is very difficult to work with.

rubber lines burn aaand copper cracks-neither recommended. steel brake lines are best.

Stay away from rubber lines if your going to use the old machine in the woods to bring down fire wood.Low limbs can snag her off the carb this happened to me a couple years ago been using copper or steel ever since

You can use a fuel line like this or get a low pressure hose from Aeroquip, Alemite or Weatherhead that use's barb push on fittings and they won't leak. We used them on test vehicles for years. I used an Aeroquip 3/8 hose with barb swivel nuts on our dishwasher. Sure is easy to pull out if you need to. Hal

I used rubber line I even took off the sediment bowl ,to many problems with it plugging. I installed some angle fittings in tank then a ball shut off valve ,short section of hose then a see thru in line filter then rubber to carb.This solved all the fuel flow problems ect.

Go to your NAPA store & get a steel brake line of the correct length & fitting size. Carefully bend it around a large socket or pipe to avoid kinking the tubing. Use the old line as a pattern.
Copper can be formed in the same manner.
