How does one go about reversing the ring gear. I put the fly wheel on my A that I'm working on. Looks like I should do it before I go any farther.

John: Flywheel on the engine as you have, heat the ring gear uniformly all the way around, don't need to get it red hot, but close. You should parhaps clean of the flywheel of any dirt or rust behind the gear before hand. Once you have the ring hot you should be able to remove it with heavy welding gloves. Quickly clean the flywheel, you may have to heat ring again uniformly, and put it right back, again with the gloves.

rantuff: Yes all old letter serial Farmalls can have the ring gear flipped. I've personally done a Super A, H, 300 and 130.

I have been told that the ring gears are directional and can not be flipped
