I need to split my M to put some new seals in it. I have never done this before and try to do all my work on my tractors by myself. Can anyone give me any tips on the best/easiest way to split my tractor without killing myself, or worse, ruining my tractor?

Splitting stand can be as simple as two pieces of 4" or bigger heavy channel iron bolted to the frame for legs, and some cross-bracing. Rollers on the ends of those legs to allow you to move the front half back and forth are handy. The rear end can be blocked up with cribbing.

A smooth level concrete floor will make the job easy.

Safest... find splitting stands for both front and rear. Next best splitting stand for front half and good rolling floor jack for rear half.

Which seals? The olny ones you need to split the tractor to replace would be the main seal on the crankshaft. Transmission & belly pump drive seals can be done with minimal effort & no splitting.
