Had water in hytran-cleaned,flushed,refilled, then siliconed bolts on transmission access cover.Still getting water in. It freezes in winter and creates problems BIG problems. Other than shedding the unit, is there anything I can do???

Brian: Most of the water runs down the gear shift lever right into the transmission. I took a section of very heavy inner tube, about 6" x 8", cut small hole in middle, slid it down over shift lever right to the spring, then used a glue around the inner tube and shaft. Let the tube ends hang down over the tower to run the water off. Some have lasted one season, and I have one that has lasted 10 years. Not perfect, but it helps.

I've seen guys use a long plastic sleeve, length of shift lever, right down to the base. It works well. With short gear shift levers like SA, I just put a plastic bucket over the shift lever. That shift lever catches a lot of water and the longer they are, the more they catch.
