If I remove the seat & battery box- Shift tower and raise the hydrualic system/steering high enough to slip the cover back enough to lift it off? I Must have a bad bearing on the RH axle --when I jack up the right side I can see the axle move down as the tractor comes up - moves about 3/8" on the outermost end. I tried loosening the axle housing but It dont let me in enough to see what goes on in there.

Hey Greasy, I had to replace the axle housing gaskets on my H when I was refurbishing it and was able to go thru the PTo hole. While I was in there I had to replace the inner bearings. It was a whole lot easier to do it this way than taking the top off. Should work the same way on your 350, only a little heavier. Click on the link for a detailed procedure. HTH, Larry

shift forks are going to come out with the cover. Therefore it does not just slide back.

You don't have to remove the top to replace inner and outer axle bearings.
Pull the PTO and you can unbolt the bull gear and remove the axle housings...

You're welcome. I had to replace the left inner bearing on my 350 a few years back. It has a LPTO and it's heavy. Take your time on reinstallation and get a new O-ring for it. A cherry picker or chainfall makes life much easier upon installation.
That bull gear is heavy also but doesn't have to come up far... a pry bar between it and the rearend housing is all you need.. and a bit of finesse.
