Is there any reason I should not use a galvinized stack pipe in my A's manifold? I already have one Galvinized. Corrosion issue here?

Thanks Again
Tim

The galvanized pipe will work ok but as the others said the poisonous fumes off of the galvanizing when it melts can make you real sick or even kill. I would get a black pipe to be safe. Dave

Tims A ---

A galvinized iron pipe may be to heavy to use all the way up.....could shake and break the manafold.....you could use it to come up through the hood, then go with tubing or a muffler....

As others posted, harmful fumes while the coating burns off... then you're left with a black pipe anyway. Black pipe is cheaper.

The first time you work the tractor with the galvanized pipe stack it will turn into a plain old black iron pipe. (The zinc galvanizing quickly melts/burns off at normal exhaust temperatures...)

Go ahead and use it. But as Jim suggests below don't be breathing the fumes until all the zinc has disappeared!

Zink is a toxic metal when oxidized. It discolors and may not be visually as nice as desired. If kept down wind while burning off, no real issue. JimN
