Hi all,
I"ve noticed almost all the 39"s I"ve seen have the light bar on the steering column and one light on the rear. The one I bought has neither. Anyone know if this was an option? Should I track down a set and install? Any help on this would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Tom

Many 1939 H's and M's did not come from the factory with starting and lighting equipment, but it could be purchased, starting and lighting were optional on early models.

My dad's uncles ordered the first m in st.charles county, MO. Lights were $10.00 extra and they did'nt order them.Dad got them years later as he worked out and to run at night to get the work done. We had the m until 1972 when it was traded on a 706. Serial# was 5645 and I'm stil looking for it.

Lights were an Option and werent avalible till Sept 26, 39 accordig to Guy Fays Letter series book. Also the early lights, light bar and rear light brackets are all different on a 39 verses the later style though the later style will fit and work.

What are some of the differences? I'm wondering if the ones on mine are correct. Mine doesn't have a rear light, and I was thinking the rear light wasn't available till later.

The light bar is smooth were the hole are for the clamps on the steering post and instaid of knotches it used a cast piece. The lights have a square termal for attaching the power wire. The lens are different as well. The rear light is a cast piece that has a hole for the pto rod to go through. I have all the right lights on my 39 M but my 39 H I need the get all 3 lights and the right bracket for the rear
