OR, if you want full-on live hydrualics right away, you can have a machine shop fabricate a crankshaft pulley and buy a bigger pump... of course it would hang off the other side on an M.

Berrnie,

Like Steven says, there were two or three different kinds of setups on those Charlynns with differing mounting brackets.

Mine is the old one that went on the M. Bolts to the governor cover and needs the extra pulley down on the crank to twist it.

Or, as this bracket allows, just need a longer gen/alt belt and run it off the upper fan belt pulley.

Okay I have it figured out now. I just wondered if anybody knows what size belt the high mount pump takes? Off the water pump and alternator. Any and all comments and ideas appreciated. Bernie Steffen

if you cannot find an original charlyn pump, this setup probably is easiest to mimic to use a common GM or Ford pump. or should i say HIDE the GM or Ford pump.

There is a bracket that installs on the governor housing and a pulley that goes on the crankshaft with a roll pin. Direct belt drive from the crankshaft.
