I ordered engine parts for my 1948 cub from the local Case dealer. I am amazed at the prices for instance $53.38 for Crankshaft Main Bearings not complete set of three but for one. Connecting Rod Bearings $18.60 for each rod, Piston Rings $23.66 for each piston. Can this be correct? Any comments on this are welcomed....Gale

One of the major tractor parts catalogs sells the rod bearings at $44.39 for a complete set and the main bearings at various prices per complete set $51.99 to $70.79.

It pays to shop around for engine parts. Local auto parts stores and other makes of tractor dealers, as well as machine shops handle the same engine parts. And from the same parts supplier.

I would ask the IH dealership if the price was misquoted - take in some price quotes from other suppliers.

You could've bought a complete overhaul kit with bearings right here on this forum. Hal
PS: Look under engine kits to your left under Marketplace.

Why don't you get your bearings from your local auto machine shop? Hal
