Does anybody know whether or not I can get a drive belt from CaseIH or will I have to go thru Woods? If it's possible to go thru IH, does anybody have an IH part number they can share? It's a 60 inch with 3 pulleys and it runs off the belt pulley drivve. Thanks a lot.

I believe you were the one that asked earlier about how to replace the seal on the PTO shaft on a 140. If it is the belt pulley shaft leaking, what I said does not apply. The pulley seal is easily replaced by just taking the seal holder bolts loose and sliding the seal and holder off the shaft. However, the belt pulley shaft is prone to leakage, especially with the woods pulley sheave setup. There is a bushing on the pulley shaft that the seal runs on. It is designed so that the flat belt pulley from IH presses against the end of the bushing when you install it, sealing the ends of the bushing so oil can't leak between the bushing and the shaft. With the Woods setup which has a clamp system to hold the V belt pulley, there is no such seal, so the oil can leak between the bushing and shaft.

Yes I was the one with questions earlier. My existing rear PTO shaft is leaking. I'm planning on fixing it now that I have a better understanding of it. When I got my Woods L59 I also got the belt pulley drive and I'm going to put that on, too. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated. Will the belt pulley shaft leak a lot or is it minmial and something I can learn to live with? Thanks again.

In my experience, the pulley shaft will leak, but it's more an irritation than a problem. I've lived with mine for more than 20 years. I usually clean the oil/dirt accumulation off once a year when I do my annual maintenance. While you are at it, maybe you will want to replace the pulley shaft seal too since it is not a big job. Are you sure the transmission is not overfilled, contributing to the PTO shaft leak. Some folks don't know where the level plug is and over fill these things. I had one that had more than 3 gallons in it when I got it. The proper fill is 5 quarts.

You will have to go to a Woods dealer. Many IH dealers also handle Woods products. Also, check on Ebay. I got one there last year, but am still using the old one, so don't know if it is any good or not, but it was quite a bit less expensive than the Woods belt. The Woods part number is 4152. The EBay seller I got my belt from is jay3688. If your present belt has not turned over in the sheaves, but just looks worn, keep using it as it may last a long time. It's important to keep the belt real tight.

Check around for prices. Measure the old one but its probably a B-225. tHE "B" is the width and 225 is the length. Car-Quest has them for 38 bucks at least thats what i pay.
