STARTED PUTTING THE 1939 M BACK TOGETHER. I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP IT AS ORIGNAL AS POSSIBLE, SO I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE ORIGNAL OIL, TEMPERATURE AND AMMETER GAUGES HAD ON THE FACE (I.E., IH, IHC ETC). THE ONES THAT WERE ON IT HAVE EITHER TURNED SO DARK OR RUSTED TO WHERE YOU CAN NOT TELL. I CAN NOT FIND A PART NO ON ANY OF THEM. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. SURE I WILL HAVE MORE QUESTIONS AS I PROGRESS.

Valu-Built is about 25% cheaper across the board on IH parts.

Thanks for the suggestions, even the negative comments on my typing style. At my age, I just thank GOD that I am able to operate this machine at all. Yes I have a catalog that list several different gauges is why I was concerned of which one to purchase. I will try OEM and compare to this site.

OEM lists which gauges are correct for which years. Even if you don't buy from OEM, it's a good reference.

Contrary to what gene bender says, do worry about the all caps. You're from that generation where being polite still counts, and there is no excuse for being impolite, right? Part of being polite to others while online is not posting in all caps.

Had a sales guy that always typed in caps and tried for a year to get him to stop. I finally found out that his eyesight was so bad that it was the only way he could see what he was typing.
Part of being from the polite generation as well.
It's only impolite if you look at it that way.

Dont worry about the caps. Do you have any listings for the guages as there are several types available.

I read all caps like the fellow is yelling.
Yeah, I find it a bit annoying as well.
but the IHC gauges are correct. OEM sells them as a set.

OEM tractor has the correct replacement gauges, still made by Rochester, if memory serves me right. -- I'm willing to bet they and IH are exactly the same item now regardless whom you order from.

The only complaint I have ever heard is that the new units may not be calibrated as accurately (for the tractor) as the old originals were.

The early model gauges had the IHC logo, and the rims were black instead of chrome. I think every thing but the class lens was painted red, so maybe that wouldnt matter. ken

And turn off your caps key -- makes your post harder to read.

I did -- and I'm 70 years old--a member of the "polite" generation. I wear trifocals, and someday will have to have cataracs (sp) removed. You can also change the print size on this site.

Thanks for the information. I thought you were just being the "CORRECT POLICE". PS-I am also 70 and have enjoyed your past posts.
