Split the 10 today to put new clutch in. Wondering if you are supposed to grind the flywheel with each new clutch or not. Flywheel looks smooth and has no ridges. Also, going to replace rear motor seal and transmission seal. Supposed to do IPTO Shaft also, correct? Any thing else while were in there? Thanks Guys.

Definitly grind the flywheel.Around the outside dia. it wears in with a rounded edge.Look at the new disc & you will see that the edge of it is sguare. With the ceramic disc it will take for ever to wear in & will make it shift terribly.Just my experiance.

Hello,
sounds like you have everything covered. The flywheel step should be 1.938" if is not within .020 I would have it ground. I would replace the ipto shaft if the splines are worn. I always replace the ipto bearing and seals.check the ipto housing if the bearing turns in the housing replace the housing this is important if you do alot of heavy pto work. before you install the clutch take the clutch disc and slide it on the clutch shaft make sure is free if it binds you will have trouble going into gear until clutch wears in. check the throw out bearing carrier and pack the grove inside with grease.
Good luck Ed

It would not hurt to get the flywheel cleaned up by a machine shop.
