Found a H that is propane, it is a 1949 with X1 after serial number. I have heard they where aftermarket propane units installed. Any information would be grateful. It is not running at this time.
Thanks

Yes, it would be an aftermarket conversion.

I can only tell you what I have been told but, many tractors were converted to LP during WW2 to conserve gas for the War effort.

What Harold said. In my area of South Propane tractors came in about 1952 and were popular and common for about 10 years until diesel tractors became the popular choice.

Most LPG conversions or new LPG tractors were after WW-2 through the mid to late 60's. Tractor fuel (distillate) was the fuel of choice in most of the South during WW=2.
