Well, I fear the old belly pump on the M has bitten the dust. Testing out the mowing machine today we noticed that after we tested the hydraulics on the mower that it M couldn't raise or lower the cutting head on it very well. Well, figured it probiably needed alittle more oil. Well it was down quite a bit when we checked. Put more in it and the hydraulics got alittle better but we noticed that when we put the system under pressure fluid just sprayed out from the bottom of the pump. Looked underneath and the fluid is coming out of the front shaft. I called the Ytmag folks about a rebuild kit and none was to be found apparently. How much is it going to run me roughly to get the pump back in shape or is it not really worth fixing the pump or putting an independant pump on it and fab up some sorta reservoir for the oil? We don't use the hydraulics on it alot but we use em enough we would like to get em fixed. Any suggestions from those that have gone through these pumps before?

There's not that much to rebuild in one of those so it shouldn't cost more than around a $125 . But that depends on whether it'll need any machine work , gears or salvage parts . Personally I'd just use CIH parts just because of one stop shopping and for me they are close by . I am going to have to do a rebuild on mine sometime this summer after the rear end is complete . Good luck ! ...Randy

Is there a crack in the housing? If there is no crack it may just be a oil seal that went bad. Its a pretty cheap fix. You can either take it to the Case IH dealership and have it done or get the seal through case ih and get a I&T show manual and it tells you step by step how to do it. Hope this helps.
