definitely not cherry. the engine looks worse than 27xx hours (dirty), the carb is not IH red anymore--it's a zenith aluminum. there is a set of 3 leaky SW cheap gauges mounted in the way of the shifter, so we know the original gauges might be kaput (including tach). the IH instruments do look like new, but i bet the cab protecting from the sun has more to do with that than anything. other parts of it do look pretty nice, but everything that raises suspicion definitely lowers the value. amazing what you can find out in only 30 seconds looking right at a tractor. i was tempted to see if the cab door was unlocked and how it started cold and ran, but i have some manners that wouldnt let me. I've seen that tractor parked in the same place a lot before it was by the road with a sign on it. I think it was only used for snow removal by the seller. i should wait for the right one to come along. even if it's industrial or non IH, if it runs good, has 3pt/fh, pto, and a loader and is big enough to lift a round bale on both ends that would be perfect. as much as i would love a project like adding 3pt/draft control, etc, i have no place to do such a thing; and there are already enough broken down and less useful tractors on the family farm, and so much to do that there is no time for a project. so if i get a chance to stop again i'll share the number with others (i forgot to write it down when i was there). karl f
