Hi All , Had most of yesterday and all of today called due to rain so I got to work on the M . It took most of the time I had yesterday to take the differential apart and clean it ( forgot all about it before ) and get it installed . Today , after 3 hours of trying to set the side to side movement to as close to nothing as possible and get the backlash set at the same time we finally got zero side play with no apparent side loading and .012 backlash . That's as close as we could get on the backlash for some reason . If I took a thin shim out it would drop to .004 or less . The thin shim mic'ed at .006 . I tried to clean the shims up some more when it was at .012 but that didn't help so that's where it is now . Had the pto housing in for a few days with high tack all over it . DUH , can't get the bull gears in with the pto shaft in place . Had trouble getting the the first axle carrier together , learned some lessons and the other one took about an hour from start to finish . So , all the guts are back inside , everything turns smoothly , axles are in , all is good . Tomorrow will consist of getting a broken bolt out of the cover for the steering mount , putting the shift rails back on it and putting it back on , putting in the clutch along with whatever body parts I have time to get on and last but not least , the wheels . Unless there's something I forgot to buy to get it put together . This has been one expensive pilot bearing failure but now every bearing , bushing and seal to the rear of the clutch is new except for the brake band bushings . ...Randy

Glad everything is going smooth. I rebuilt my H rear last year and you are right. It went from a rear wheel seal to a full expensive complete rebuild real quick!
