I am trying to locate 2 original dot head bolts for the drawbar on a super h. They would be the ones that bolt the brace to the u-shaped piece. It would be part #179953. Its listed under 3 on page 159 in the super h parts book if you have one. Measurements are 3/4 x 2 1/4 in. I called some salvage yards about if they had these bolts and they wont even take the time to look. Trying to build a show super h and regular hardware bought bolts wont cut it. Thanks for the help.

I'm trying to imagine the scenario. There are 15 to 20 Farmalls at a show. The competition is so close for the winner, that the judges, lie on their back, get a light, crawl under the back of the tractor, and see if you have dot head bolts? C'mon this is not the Rolls Royce Concours De'Elegance at Pebble Beach. It's about some tractors on display in a bean field. Judges walk by and the best grill wins. Maybe in 50 years it might get to this. Gordo

I noticed those in a few places on the H I'm working on when I started cleaning things up. Near as I can tell that is just the t!t left over from the parting tooling in the screw machine or turret lathe that cut the bolt off of the bar stock. You could probably have a machinist face off about .030 - .040" from a new fastner and leave a little t!t in the center for the same effect. Personally I would save my efforts for bigger and better details.

Andrew, Neblinc made his own dot bolts for the restoration of his H. You can ask him how he did it. New bolt strength with the old bolt look... sounds like a winner to me!

I have gotten to where I don't pay much attention to the bolts. I think there is more than one company that still makes them. Only one I can think of now is Mark's tractors. They are not like the originals, but they do have sort of a dot head. You might call Mike at Steel Wheel Ranch 785-548-7437. Don't know if he keeps the used ones, but at least he will know what you are talking about. Another possible source for used ones is Bates Corp.

I made some by putting a drop of fiberglass resin on some bolts and then painted them and they looked pretty good. Make sure the resin is starting to set up to stop running BTDT. Jack
