I've seen used Schwartz wfe's for $400 to $750, depending on condition, whether you got hubs, etc. New ones [for a 560, at least] do run about $1000-1200 by the time you figure in freight. Maybe more, given fuel prices.
BUT-- after all the hassle and chasing around and phone bills to ASAP, and being broken down with hay on the ground and rain on the horizon, and still never finding a spindle, well, what's that worth?
I do use a front end loader with mine, but I go real slow. You can watch the spindles flex when you try to lift too big a load. It's creepy.
Speeco sells spindles that can be machined down and re-keyed, but the shops near me aren't doing that for free, either.
Caveat Emptor. Just my very bitter two cents of experience. If you do buy it, make sure you keep your narrow front well-maintained and handy, and a 4-ton floor jack, 3/4 inch ratchet drive and blocking material is good to have around as well. I can change them out in the field in about an hour now, but I have had quite a bit of practice.
