Allan: We've been getting the liquid form, close to 24 hours now. We hadn't had rain or snow in the past month. Seeds I planted close to two weeks ago are just lying in this sand loam, not enough moisture in that top layer for germination. One thing we have got going for us, the soil is warm. We've had the warmest April since 1955.

Looking in the background of your photo, the open fields look almost bare. It just looks like a lot of snow, piled up around trees, buildings and equipment. Do you have crop in the ground, either up or not up? Here in the east we always fear frost more than snow. I remember May 09, 1972, we got close to a foot of snow, no wind, just heavy wet snow. As it melted, seemed like grain came right up through the last 2".
