My local dealer has a cotter pin hanging on the wall, part # written on it is 19643R1. No one quite knows for sure where it goes, but it's the biggest cotter pin I've ever seen. It's about 3/4" diameter and about 4 1/2" useable length. Does anyone here know what this was used on? It's a great conversation piece, and it would be nice to finish it with some info. Thanks in advance.

Have never seen an IH part number stamped into a cotter pin. Googled the 5 digit number with the R1 suffix and it came up as a cotter pin supplied by a aircraft parts company. Check out link. Link

May be missing a number, R1 ending part numbers used 6 numbers before the R1.

The part number looks to be too recent to be part of the 12-14 series tractors. Looking at the O-12 parts book the cotters (large) holding the bull gear to the axles are not shown in the parts lists. I don't remember them being quite that large.

The bull gears on my F14 have some mondo cotter pins in them. Can't recall if I saved one or not. I'll have to rummage around and see if I can find it an measure it.
