Bill: You should not need to measure anything with block part number 354898 R1. It is the only block ever used in offset tractors that you can buy 3", 3-1/8" or 3-1/4" pistons and sleeves for without any modification to the block. Basically there was never any need to bore that block for those 3 sizes. All other blocks need to be bored for 3-1/4" sleeves, possibly some of them for 3-1/8" bore. I don't think you can buy a 3" bore kit for blocks used in 130 and 140, very likely no one ever asked.

Having said that if your supplier needs block measurements for for block with part number 354898 R1 they are not smart enough to be selling parts, and I personally wouldn't deal with them. I know I can walk into my CaseIH dealer and buy the right kit using only the block part number, as long as I'm certain the block has not been modified, and with block 354898 R1, there is no reason to modify.

They have sleeve kits here on this forum under "Engine Kits". I would measure the depth of the block where the sleeves are installed to make sure the the sleeves that measure 7-1/16" in length will fit your block. Hal

Bill: From the factory SA were not equipped with block 354898 R1 until after serial number 310300. You don't say where you've been looking for the kit, however try using a serial number higher than 310300. If your looking to go 123 try asking for Super C, that block was also used in all Super C as a 123 cubic inch engine.

Parts suppliers should be able to sort it out with nothing more than block part number. By the way there is a 123 or 3-1/8 kit for block part number 354898 R1. You can also get 3-1/4" piston and sleeve kit for that block.

Thanks Hal & Hugh. There is room for the longer sleeve in this block.I want Tisco Parts. Will go with 123 cu,3&1/8 bore.More Questions,Should block #354898R1 have a water pump? Will this overbore cause overheating?Head gasket info calls for with/wo water pump, what"s the difference?Maybe I need to order the head set for a 113cu & sleeve kit for 123cu & get the gasket with the larger water ports? This is a work tractor. thanks Bill

Bill: If I were going to 123 cubic inch kit and planning to work the tractor, I think I'd add a water pump.
