Any tips on what to use to plug the spark plug hole so I can clean out the spark plug cavity on my H. What size are the threads? Can I use a pipe fitting plug?

Randy

I like Rusty, Ron and the Theman's idea. Just some old broken off plugs, even if you have to seal the top with silicone or something. Especially when you consider wire brush or screw driver in there cleaning stubborn guck. No plastic plug has ever withstood me with anything sharp in my hand. Neither has my skin.
 Dave

18 mm threads, the holes are metric. Pull the head and clean the carbon off the top of the pistons while you are at it. Perhaps get the head redone. Less than $200.

I've always just taken an old set of spark plugs and broken the porcelain(sp?) off of them right above where the wrench flats are. The rest of the porcelain will stay in the metal part so no probably with them sealing the cylinder. Makes a handy little plug that's down out of the way for cleaning/painting etc.

I don't have too much in hydraulic stuff but I am sure my neighbor would have some of those plastic plugs.

Great idea!!
Thanks

Randy

Standard 18mm spark plug (square) thread. This is not a pipe size. Threads will be damaged. A couple of options: -Destroy a used spark plug by breaking out the porcelain and JB welding or filling it with silicone. -Buy an anti-foul adapter of the correct size and do the same with it and save the used plug. -Stick a plastic dust plug in it that came from some hydraulic part or another - you are saving things like that aren't you?

That's what I have in there now Rusty, but I can't get in there with the wire brush to clean out all the gunk.
