I found this number on my Farmall, which I am being told is Model M. The number I found is 357882R1 and I am trying to determine what year it is. I have checked the Farmall ID numbers on the list in this website but did not find my number. Can someone help me determine what year my baby is?
Thanks

Maverick

You evidentally havent found the tag, so if you can find the enigne serial number, just below the #1 spark plug, then it will at least tell you the year of the engine.Casting codes, that are all over the tractor, will get you at least close enough to call it whatever year the ysay. The look like this - 12*7*K, the *s looking like screw heads. K would be 41, L - 42 and so on. Coincidentally, I have 2 consecutive M, one has a 12*7*K casting, but most are within a few days before.(Dec. 7th 1941)

There should be a tag riveted on the bell housing with the Mod # and serial #. If I remember correctly tag should be on the leftside of housing..HTH

Roberto, you have a part casting number, look for a flat machined area near the plugs approximately 1.5x3 inches the engine serial number should be stamped there, maybe under paint or rust. If the engine is original this should also be tractor serial number.

Tractor serial number, and engine numbers do not match on all Farmalls. The M's have a nice spread between the numbers. D slater, and a couple more here can shed more light on this. My 1950 M with original engine has a 10,000 point spread between engine, and serial number of tractor. Some are more than that.

The serial number will also be on the right hand frame rail. It may be hard to find due to several coats of paint, or severe rust.
