I can"t figure out how to narrow-down the archives, so I"ll ask something I saw you write about before.
I"m getting close to firing-up my Super-A after an engine rebuild. You mentioned something about sticking a hose in a port and pumping in oil to try to fill the passages.
I can"t remember where you suggested to stick the hose. I don"t want to use the wrong one and pump it all into the oil pan.
Appreciate your time.

Pete,

I took the plugs out and turned my motor over with a crank (actually one of the T handles for removing the H hydraulic pump) until oil started coming out the hole for the oil pressure gauge. Then I put the gauge back in and turned it over with starter until the pressure came up. It took quite a while. Once there was oil pressure, I put the plugs in a started it.

P&R,
THe hole is the same one used by the oil pressure connection. Just temporarily remove the tube, and insert the pump oil can (it may take a short chunk of vinyl or rubber tubing to make a nice seal on the tip. Pump multiple cans (of engine oil into the hole until the pumping gets noticably harder to do. If the V C is off, it will show oil there. JimN
