Dad's left axle leaks on his 240 utility. We would like to put in a new seal but 40 years of rust seems to be winning. It has the short splined axle with the hub pushed on. We have messed up a large puller, used heat, sledge hammer, hydralic jack, driven it with the retaining bolt out, but it has not given. Any tips or other alternatives would be appreciated.

Your not gonna like this, I'dd unbolt the whole axel housing take it to a shop with a LARGE press.
This has to be a big job cause I think the bull gear has to come off first.
Hope someone has a ansure thats easier
than this.

might try looking in a I&tT shop manual for a 240.
might find a easier way than moving the whole final drive.
