I live near New Castle Indiana and their is a junk dealer their who would have one out of a burnt tractor for practical nothing. I wouldn't weld one back up if you deside to sell it would hurt the value of the resell.

Really sorry to hear about your engine.

I like www.atis.net

They have an outstanding list of tractor salvage yards listed by state, so you can find ILL, Ohio, and KY as well as IN.

Hope it helps.

Hi Aaron, If the hole is low enough in the block wall you can have it welded. Really would be nice if you saved the piece that got knocked out. Sure hate to see you throw a good block away just because of a little hole. Mine was about 3" round and it patched just fine. If you really want an original looking job, make a cast patteren on the end of a 1/2" rod that looks like the cast pattern on the block. Just use a file to make the patteren, harden, then "lightly" tap with a hammer to make the cast pattern on the weld face. You can't even see the patch is there.

Welding on an old engine block is common, if you have been around tractors very long. Only if you're a newbe, it might seem like a poor idea.
