I want to reseat my belly pump to stop a small leak. Any words of wisdom before I drop it? Any good tips on making a new gasket for it? And what about torque on the bolts?

Thanks,
Steve

I saw a neat tool either in the M operators manual or the I&T manual. It is a T-shape made of 3/4 inch (I think) round stock with a short projection on the long end of the T. If you make two of these and stick them in the Keyholes in the bottom of the pump, two guys can lower it right out, or put it back, without tipping it over. Even with a floor jack, one of them sure helps to keep the pump steady.

You can use a floor jack with a couple boards to lower the belly pump . Just have to balance it a bit . A gasket is available from the dealer . its three or four bucks . I just tightened the bolts securely . not to critical .
Reseating the pump will not help you .
If it leaks its the gasket or the shaft seal . take a look to see where its leaking from .the shaft seal is not hard to replace . one suggestion was to take a big nut and weld it to some square stock that fits the groove on the nut the coupling shaft fastens to . use impact wrench .
make sure you jam a flat bar or screw diver to keep the gears from turning . When you put the pump halves together you have the lever to mate up again . kind of tricky to line up
